The Strong Minds
Network
Join the movement to proactively build environments for youth that cultivate strong minds, not just reactively manage problems.
manage the crisis → cultivate strong minds

Having a strong mind means being fully capable of navigating the stresses and challenges of life and functioning productively.
50%
of young adults across the modern world now have clinically significant mental health challenges.
<10%
was the rate in their parents’ generation.
Why this is important
This decline is recent — which means it’s reversible.
The last two decades have witnessed an extraordinary decline in the wellbeing of adolescents and young adults that extends to all aspects of mental function — emotional, social, cognitive, and physical. This shift tracks closely with profound changes in our social, technological, and chemical environments. Because this decline is so recent, we know thriving in the right environment is possible — and we now know how much different environmental factors contribute to the problem.
Every school environment is different. By understanding the levers in our own environments, we can be targeted and strategic about the action we take to proactively build the conditions that prevent the problem, rather than just manage the consequences. Measuring our progress can tell us what is working and what is not, so we can get iteratively better.
